“Promoting the Independence of the Judiciary to Improve Access to Justice for Vulnerable Groups”, funded by the Soros-Kyrgyzstan Foundation Program

Implementation timeline:

March 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022.

Goal:

Improving institutional arrangements for judicial independence to ensure the rule of law in society, directly affecting access to justice for vulnerable groups.

Expected results and accomplishments: 

  • Ensure the participation of judges or their representatives in draft legislation in the framework of the ongoing constitutional reforms
  • Ensuring broad support for judges or their representatives in these activities through open discussion of ideas and draft laws;         
  • Promotion of draft laws prepared in the field of judicial independence in the Parliament;         
  • “Conducting sensitization of project beneficiaries on the laws enacted”.
Newer UNDP project, under the Ray of Light Initiative: “Development and institutionalization of training modules for law enforcement and justice officials and the focal point for family and gender-based violence”
